Training for Campus Security Authorities (Jeanne Clery Act)
The Campus Security Act was established in 1990 to require all colleges and universities to collect and disclose information about crime on and around campus property. Subsequent amendments to the law renamed it the Clery Act and more broadly defined reporting requirements. Campus Security Authorities are generally defined as University officials who have the authority and duty to respond to incidents on behalf of the University. The Department of Education is the agency responsible for assuring that institutions comply with the Act.
Public Safety offers training of Campus Security Authorities with an online tutorial. Access the tutorial »
