Student Accessibility Services

Overview

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) offers the tools for success and provides equal access & opportunities to educational programs College-wide.

Student Accessibility Services works with the campus community including our academic departments, faculty and staff, to provide equal access and opportunity to educational programming and services for students with disabilities.

Services are determined individually, based on federal guidelines and Quincy College policies. Our goal is to minimize the impact of the disability by providing reasonable academic accommodations for the student to meet course outcomes.

Receiving Reasonable Accommodations

To be approved for accommodations, requests must be appropriate for the student’s disability and supported by the disability documentation. Once approved, the Student Accessibility Services Coordinator will generate a letter for each classroom instructor notifying the instructor of the requested accommodation. The College reserves the right to make final decisions regarding accommodations. Students with disabilities who choose not to register with the Student Accessibility Services Office will not receive accommodations under the ADA or Section 504.

Requests for accommodations should be made in advance to allow reasonable time to prepare for implementation.

Registered Students: Requesting accommodations are self-reported by following these steps:

1. Login to the QC portal and select the Student tab
2. From the menu on the left select “Student Accessibility Services”
3. Once you’ve accessed the SAS page in the portal, please read and follow the instructions to complete the Intake Application form, provide your documentation, and set up an appointment by emailing sas@quincycollege.edu. Requests for accommodations must be made in advance to allow reasonable time to prepare for implementation.
